Enviroair to Represent Sofame in Eastern Canada

MONTREAL, February 23, 2015 – (TSXV:SDW) – Sofame’s Montreal-based distributor, Enviroair, has expanded its marketing reach into Canada’s maritime provinces. Enviroair Industries Inc. has opened an office in Halifaxafter launching its heating division in March 2011.  Enviroair’s experts in five divisions – Ventilation, Hydronic, Heating, Renewable Energy and VRV (variable refrigerant volume) – take pride in quickly bringing customers innovative solutions in both an effective and eco-friendly manner. Enviroair is present at the time of design, during installation with trained technicians, and at the time of service, through its parts department which supplies the information operators need 24 hours a day.

For example, when Enviroair met with HH Angus, consulting engineers for Montreal’s $2 billion CHUM super hospital, to discuss how best to maximize heating efficiency while ensuring the lowest possible energy costs, they recommended the Sofame Percotherm® direct-contact stack economizer, which is used by numerous other hospitals in North America to achieve 98% heating efficiency.

The Percotherm® direct-contact stack economizer, designed and manufactured by Montreal-based Sofame Technologies Inc., recuperates the residual heat contained in boiler and turbine flue gases, and transfers it to cool water streams.  Hot water is produced at temperatures as high as 140 degrees F (60 degrees C).  The Sofame system fully conforms to new boiler efficiency guidelines established by the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air conditioning Engineers in the ASHRAE report titled “Advanced Energy Design Guide for Large Hospitals” published in 2012.  HH Angus is targeting LEED Silver certification for CHUM’s new hospital complex.

According to John Gocek, President of Sofame, “Sofame is currently re-examining its market presence across Canada.  Industrial and institutional customers are increasingly searching for solutions which reduce fuel costs and directly reduce emissions.  Sofame’s competitiveness and success depend on the ability of sales partners to effectively present Sofame engineering solutions, assist customers to evaluate installation costs, and then provide parts, service and support.  Enviroair has been a strong partner to Sofame in eastern Ontario, Quebec, and now the Maritimes.  We are pleased to support Enviroair’s business plan.”
